Making choices seems to be more limiting by the increasing number of choices. At a certain point, I say enough already and pick one that has been successful in the past. There is a lack of focus within me and around me I find distracting. It makes it difficult to carry out my choices.
Today I listened to a talk about choice which helped my thought process immensely. I feel refocused. Sheena Iyengar, a researcher from Columbia U., shares valuable insights on choice:
Feeling out of focus and overwhelmed is a remediable situation, Thank God. Her comments from about 16 minutes on are summation of managing choice. My favorite comment is "this is something inventors, artists and musicians have known for years. My solutions have made sense.
